Pictures, Pictures, Pictures.

Miraflores Locks

This is the Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal. There are three locks in all. From here, the ships enter either the canal or the Pacific Ocean. The day we went we were really lucky to see a ship coming through and watch the locks raise and lower it as it passed through. This ship is the largest that can fit through the canal and only has like four feet to spare on each sides before hitting the locks or the shore! We also live really close to the canal, so we often walk to a nearby park to see the ships pass by.
